All skills clinics

Double Diamond Sports Academy is going to offer various clinics designed specifically for LGSA. Don’t miss this opportunity for your young player to receive instruction from Double Diamond’s professional staff of instructors along with some of the top high school players in the area. The clinics will include instruction in the proper fundamentals of hitting and the proper fundamentals of throwing and receiving will be covered, as this is where a lot of injuries arise in the young arm. The proper techniques and footwork to be successful in fielding will also be introduced. Weather will not be an issue as these clinics will be conducted in Double Diamond’s 10,000 square foot Indoor Training Facility. Emphasizing quality instruction, these clinics will be limited to the first 24 paid students.

When: Sunday, March 30

Times: 10U 1 PM - 2:30 PM
Middle School & Senior Players 3 PM - 4:30 PM
Cost: $30 per player, checks payable to Rick McEwen. A sign up table will be in the front lobby. Our hours are Monday-Friday 3:30-11:00 PM.
All participants should come in proper attire with their own equipment. Tennis shoes or turf shoes, no cleats please. As always...parents welcome and encouraged to attend.


PITCHING AND CATCHING CLINICS

When:   Saturday, February 16th
Where:   Joe Michell Fields.
Cost:   $30 per player

10U Division Players (Sorry, no 8U)    9:00 - 10:30am
Middle School and Seniors             11:00am - 12:30pm
*note pitchers and catchers have separate clinics

 


Manager's and Coach's Clinics

Date: Saturday, January 12, 2008

9:00-11:00am - 8U

11:30-1:30pm - 10U

2:00-4:00pm - Middle School/Seniors

Where: Joe Michell Fields

The All Skills portion of the Manager's and Coach's Clinics will include demonstrations and some "hands-on" training in the proper warm-up techniques, plyometric drills aiding in the increase of speed and agility, proper throwing and receiving fundamentals, the fundamentals of hitting and bunting techniques, and the proper fundamentals involved in the playing infield and outfield.


Manager's ACE Certification

Date: February 12, 2007.  7:30pm-9:00pm

Scorekeeping Clinic

LGSA is offering a 1 hour scorekeeping clinic coinciding with the All-skills clinics being put on for the players by Double Diamond.

When: February 23, 9:30-10:30am or 1:30-2:30pm.
Where: Robertson Park in the room located above the snack bar.

Topics to be covered are:
The basics of scorekeeping, position designations, basic plays, outs, runs, substitutions, pitching changes, how to properly record outs, designating how a runner advanced to the next base and more. Beanie Lucivero and Jim Geyer are your trainers and the cost is free!!
