After 4 Balls |
All season - Players pitch three balls; coaches pitch the remaining strikes. Each pitch from a coach constitutes as a strike whether the batter swings or not. Fouled pitches, regardless of the pitch count, and regardless of whether pitched by a player or coach, will apply to the pitch count, and are counted as strikes. However, no third strike can be called on a foul ball. Any pitch clearly thrown as a strike; and if the batter swings, will be a strike. There are no walks and out will count. Pitcher (player) must begin each pitch with both feet on the pitching rubber. Coaches can use their discretion as to where to pitch from. Strikeouts whether by player or coaches will retire the batter and the batter will not advance to first base. |

Umpires |
Each team designates a coach for each inning to serve as an umpire. The coach of the defensive team (the team in the field) is positioned immediately behind the center fielder and is responsible for making safe/out calls on the bases, and all safe/out calls on fly balls. From this position the coach may also direct the defensive players.
The coach of the offensive team is positioned immediately behind the pitcher or the catcher and makes all ball/strike calls, as well as pitching remaining pitches . From this position the coach may also direct the base runners. Offensive teams are allowed additional coaches in the field to help direct players. They should be stationed at the 1st and 3rd base lines.
